A Meeting of the Parish Council was held on Tuesday 23rd March 2010 at 8pm in the village hall.
Present : Mrs Blenkins [ chairman], Mr Seabury [vice-chairman], Mr Rogers, Mr Davies, Mr Norris, Mr Pinches and Mrs Boulton. Three members of the parish were also present.
Apologies were received from Mr Pennington [unwell] and Mr Maydew [prior engagement].
The Minutes of the previous meeting, previously circulated, were read approved and signed.
There were no declarations of interest.
Matters Arising: Mr Seabury reported on the recent Local Joint Committee meeting. He reported that money for a hot-cupboard in the kitchen at the village-hall had been received. Also the Young Farmers Club had received a grant towards improving the fabric of their club room.
Planning Applications:
1. The proposed developments at Gretton Mill Stables had been refused.
2. The parish council was informed of the future developments at the Grove Farm in Cardington. The plans were circulated.
Finance: It was agreed to pay the clerk’s salary of £1000 for the year 2009-10, who confirmed that this was in respect of work carried out as a self-employed person. Therefore there was no tax or national insurance liability for the parish council. It was also agreed to pay the clerk’s expenses for 2009-10 of £257.20 and £30 for the hire of the village hall. The annual governance statement for 2009-2010 and the accounting statements for 2009-10 were also approved for internal audit.
Correspondence: Mrs Blenkins thanked everyone for their efforts for the Lenton Lunch and confirmed that £220 had been forwarded to the County Air Ambulance. The road between Cardington and Leebotwood would be closed at Comley for road works.
The date for the next meeting would be on 25th May in the village hall at 8pm. The annual council meeting to select the chairman and vice-chairman for 2010-11, will be followed by a general meeting. A representative from the highways department and from BT will be present.
A review of conflict of interest was carried out and all councillors present confirmed that to the best of their knowledge there had been no conflict of interest.
